Mourning the loss of Ruth Brookes

The Carpenter’s Boat Shop is remembering one of our matriarchs, Ruth Brookes, who died on Friday, February 19.

Back in 1979, it was Ruth and her husband Kenneth who offered up the name, “The Carpenter’s Boat Shop” to the fledging idea of Bobby and Ruth Ives.
Ruth Brookes served on the Boat Shop’s Board of Directors for a number of years, retiring from it at the ripe ol’ age of 98!! She would have been 101 on March 15!
Rest in peace, Ruth. Thank you for all that you gave to us.
