Woodturning for Beginners – June 24-28, 2019

Bio:  Bob has been a woodturner for the past 16 years.  He has taught woodturning at a local community college for six years and in high schools for four years.  He has also led numerous demonstrations.

Class tuition:

  • Without room & board – $400
  • With room & board – $800

This class is specifically for beginners aged 17 and older who would like to learn basic wood turning techniques on a lathe.  Classes will run from 8am-12:30pm each day (4 hours is plenty of time standing and working on a lathe!).  For those who choose to board at the Boat Shop during this class, you will have your afternoons free to explore the area which has much to offer!!

The course will include an introduction to the lathe, use of all tools and tool handling.  Students will turn a variety of projects including honey dippers, bowls, goblets, lidded boxes, and platters.

A small materials fee may be charged.

$100 deposit required to register for a class.  Remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the start of the class.
