Bio:  Gillian found her love of woodworking at The Carpenter’s Boatshop as an apprentice in 2004 and continued to pursue boatbuilding, furniture making, carpentry and tiny house building for the past fifteen years. She’s excited to be back at The Carpenter’s Boatshop to create a women’s class that will build skill and confidence, incite curiosity and of course be a bunch of fun.

Class tuition:

  • Without room & board – $550
  • With room & board – $950

This class is offered for women only to help create an empowering atmosphere of learning and community. During the 5-day class, students will receive an introduction and overview to general wood working terms, tools (both hand tools and power tools) and wood working techniques. Each student will complete and take home at least one woodworking project during the week choosing from 3-4 items as suggested by the instructor. Projects in the past have included Shaker Oval boxes, three-step step stools, Shaker step stools.  A small materials fee may be charged.

Classes run each day from 8:30am-4:30pm – tea break and lunch are included for all students.

$100 deposit required to register for a class.  Remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the start of the class.
