$100.00 – $840.00
Class Instructor: Nathaniel Chambers
Class tuition:
- Without room & board – $500
- With room & board – $840
In this 4-day class, students will learn the ancient art of “wet” coopering, making a bucket traditionally used for carrying milk, butter, or cheese. Each bucket is comprised of individual staves and held together with some sort of band. In this particular class, students will receive instruction on a variety of tools specific to coopering: the drawknife, the coopering drawknife, the jointer plane, the croze, and a variety of others. We will discuss tool sharpness and cover bucket design so that students can continue on in their journey after the class is over. We will also be making the bands from copper, which means students will receive some instruction in metallurgy. All skill levels welcome.
A small additional materials fee may be charged.
$100 deposit required to register for a class. Remaining balance is due 30 days prior to the start of the class.
