To ensure that apprentices will thrive at the Boat Shop, a three-day visit in residence is normally required as part of the application process. This visit provides insight into the life of an apprentice and helps applicants assess their fit within this community.
In response to Covid-19 we have developed a virtual interview process, as well as a walking tour video that we will share with you. Our video interview process was successfully implemented for this years incoming apprentices (starting in March 2020), and will continue to be utilized until we can safely invite prospective apprentices to our campus.
Three-day visits are normally scheduled between November and the end of April. These visits are for those applying for the subsequent academic year beginning in August. Visits are scheduled on a first-come-first-serve basis with a limited number of available dates that tend to fill quickly. For Fall 2021 applicants, we will keep you updated as to the viability of a future three-day visit. Please fill out the Pre-Interview Questionnaire as it contains the same vital information we require to start the Application process – whether we are able to offer a visit or not – due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
In order to schedule a three-day visit or virtual interview, you must first complete and submit a Pre-Interview Questionnaire. Once you have submitted your questionnaire, please contact our House Manager starting in mid September 2020 to request a virtual interview date, or learn about the possibilities of visiting our campus in the future.
